A Living Field Guide: Zugerberg Edition

Where: Join us on the Zugerberg at the Kinderspielplatz Schattwäldli from 10:00 - 12:00 for a completely free of charge exploration workshop where nature becomes teacher, studio and storybook.

Who: This gathering is open to young and old alike, rooted in a shared curiosity for the living world and a deeper connection to the landscapes around us. Each session invites participants to slow down and explore through art, observation and discovery. A selection of reference books will be available for helping us name and relate to what we find.

What: Together, we will begin to create our own personal field guides—a living record of what we see, sketch, collect (in memory and drawing) and learn over time.

Participants are asked to bring:

• A book of blank or plain pages (this will become your personal field guide)
• Any preferred materials for drawing, photography and/or writing (pencils, pens, watercolours, camera etc.)
• Weather-appropriate clothing and a sense of curiosity

There is no fixed outcome—each experience and field guide is unique. You are free to design, structure, and fill your pages in whatever way feels right to you. The goal is not perfection, but relationship: to the plants, the place and the act of observation.

This is a relaxed, family-friendly experience that unfolds outdoors in all weather conditions—rain or shine (hopefully shine).
